Since turning her hand to writing, Mickey found that many of her fellow writers often did not understand how to manage their writing business.  Her colleagues and friends focused on the creative side of the endeavor and knew little about contracts, taxes, and other aspects of business management.  They simply didn't know what they didn't know.
